Fathers Day 2010

Last night was a bad night. Mordecai was up almost all night from being HOT & SWEATY. Mike and I tried to take naps here and there this morning but that wasn't happening because of our still sick little boy and very independent and needy daughter. It wasn't our typical Sunday, or Fathers Day. We ate cereal for breakfast and the kids watched regular t.v., when we usually only watch church videos on Sunday, and we were just lazy. The kids gave Mike their Fathers Day card, which played "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". I thought it was funny that after Mike read it, Emily took the card and now has it in her room. She loves that song! The kids gave Mike a computer for his road bike. I gave Mike a $25 gift card to Sports Authority to buy some more bike necessitates/wants. After presents we decided that Mordecai was feeling well enough for us to attend Sacrament so we could partake of the Sacrament, but also so Emily could sing to Mike, and so I could lead the primary one last time. (They released me last week :/) The kids sang, "My Dad" and then gave them salt water taffy shish-kabob skewers. At the end of Sacrament Mordecai started to get feverish again so we came home, after Emily handed out the rest of the Fathers Day treats. We had hamburgers, frog eye salad, corn on the cob, and rice krispy treats for Mikes Fathers Day dinner. Mordecai is still feverish, so Mike just gave him a blessing. Hopefully we can get some sleep tonight. Doubtful....

One funny story. Since we watched the movie "The Tooth Fairy" last night Emily decided to be the tooth fairy. Mike, Mordecai, and I all woke up to money under our pillows this morning. She pulled coins out of her piggy banks and distributed them before bed on Saturday night. We found them because in the middle of the night Mordecai came in with his pillow, and when we went to put it back there was money where his pillow goes. Then in making our bed we found money there too. It was funny.
