These are pictures of Emily's hemangioma from almost every month from since she was born to 10 months. Some days when there seems to be improvement is because they are days after treatments. We did oral steroids first, then steroid injections and then flash lamp/laser therapy. Her last treatment was January 2007. Since then it has rapidly regressed on its own from blessings she has received.

This and That

Just some random pictures. Emily got a package in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa Rogers and a card from Grandma and Grandpa Bainbridge. In the card there was a $10 dollar bill and she was so excited to see it she goes, "Wow, they sent me a $1,000. dollars!" I only wish that it could change into that much money.

With Mordecai we have been trying to phase him out of naps, because when he does nap he is awake forever late that evening. Today we left him for a couple of minutes to print off our taxes and this was how we found him.

The Curse of Denver

Last night I started feeling kind of sick. Sometimes at night, depending on what kind of junk I have eaten during the day, I feel kind of nauseous like my stomach is greasy but I can just go to bed and then in the morning I feel fine. Well I thought that was what was happening, but then I had to go to the bathroom and I was a little "loose". After a while the sick feeling got worse and then we went to bed and I kept telling Mike that I didn't feel well. I was right, I got up and threw up, and I did that every hour about 2-3 times. Finally at 2:00 I asked Mike for a blessing and he told me that my body would "purge" it. After that I was in the bathroom throwing up and then when that part was over I would have to sit down cause I would urinate out of my bottom, if you know what I mean. Finally about 4:30 I decided I would come down stairs to let Mike sleep and I don't think I quit going to the bathroom until about 7:30 this morning. I was worried about the kids getting it, but for the most part they were okay. Emmett threw up about 3 times but in between those times he was fine. Mike and Dan came down with diarrhea so today was just spent at home lounging around. Finally around the end of the evening Cherstin and I were trying to find out what we could do for dinner. We wanted to do something soft and easy so that just in case the kids did get sick it would be gentle coming back up...so we went to IHOP. It felt so good to get some food in me, I lost 5 pounds from being sick.

Chuck-E-Cheese

Cherstin and Dan decided that I am lame because I wont take the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese. The only experience I have had with it was last year in Utah for Emily's party and it was CRAZY!!! There were kids everywhere and it was so noisy I had a headache after we left. So today we went there for lunch and the kids had a blast and it wasn't bad. For the most part of the day we felt like we were the only ones their. Mordecai loved the ball games, but what else is new. He would walk up the skee ball and throw them in, I had to pry him away and every time I did he would go back over there and then he would come back to me with his hand held out and say, "More Money!" I hardly saw Emily, she and Abby were off by themselves for the most part. I think I will take them to Chuck-E-Cheese again if it is during the day and with some friends.

Hair Appointment

For the longest time, well for this past month, Emily has been talking non-stop about getting her hair done with me at Trisha's. I decided that I was going to go blonde again, and I asked Emily what she wanted to do and she said, "Cut it short". I was hesitant because if it is short I can't do much with it, but I decided I would ask Trisha when we got there. Trisha recommended cutting off the baby hair, which was about 5 inches or so. We did, and then Trisha put some gel in it to make the wavy/curly stand out. I loved it, and never thought of it. I thought it turned out super cute...what do you think?

Happy Family

The other day Emily was playing with her magna doodle (sp) and this is what she drew. Our happy family! I was so amazed at how well she did at drawing people, well stick figures, especially since her eye has been either patched or dilated for the last 2 and a half weeks.

Okay so after I posted this I should say we look more like aliens. Ha Ha.

Sunday Posession

For a special treat Mike was given the morning off of meetings for PEC and such since it was Valentines Day. It was a great day, except for the possessed son we have when it comes to putting on his church clothes. Mike has never experienced it until this morning. We didn't get to record it until the end when he had calmed down a little, but none the less it is still funny.

Emily's Family Dinner

Today we decided to take Emily to dinner for her birthday. We know that her birthday isn't until the 18th, but Cherstin and Dan and their family are going to be here...so we decided to do our individual family outing early. She decided to go to 'Red Robin' since they have balloons, and Mike and I can't complain because we HEART their fries. Here are some of the pictures we took.

Looks Like a Party

Sometime this afternoon while I was cleaning and doing my regular routine Emily was decorating our stairs. It was kind of funny, but I was told several times that I wasn't to remove them until Daddy came home so he could see. As you can see the decorations (bracelets) are all over the posts. This evening for family home evening we decorated some cupcakes, and then ate them. What could be better than this for FHE??? Well the whole time Mordecai kept saying, "Upcake, and Prinkles". They both had a fin time decorating and eating them.

New Glasses

A week ago yesterday (1/25/10) Emily had a follow up eye appointment. We knew they were going to say that it hadn't gotten any better, and we were expecting to get a prism put on her glasses in prep for surgery. Well...we got there and Dr. Nichols checked her eyes, and prescription. He said that he prescription changed so we needed to get new lenses, but we opted for a new pair of glasses since her old pair was in bad shape. He also told us that he didn't think she was going to need the surgery, so no prism, so that is a good thing. He also doesn't think the eye problems are caused from her hemangioma. They are probably caused by Mike and his poor eye sight, but the hemangioma is what caused us to catch it so early. The reason he doesn't think the hemangioma caused it is because when eye problems occur from hemangiomas there is usually an astigmatism from the pressure being put on the eye, but she doesn't have that. The bad news is we don't know if the need for glasses will be a permanent thing or just until the alignment comes back to normal, which we hope the new prescription will fix. We are also supposed to patch for all waking hours which is a bummer. The good thing though is that Emily has opted to do a drop of atropine instead of patching so I don't have to battle the patch anymore. She kept taking off the patch and telling me she didn't want to wear it because people would make fun of her. So sad. I didn't think this kind of stuff started this young. Anyway, we think she is beautiful and we picked up her new glasses yesterday and she was so excited because they have cherries on the ear piece and a princess crown for the label...and of course they are pink! She also takes after her mom and picked the most expensive frames, Juicy Couture.
