Jingle Bells...Batman Style

As I have posted before Mordecai LOVES Batman. The other funny thing is he likes the Joker just as much as Batman. I just want to post him singing the Batman Christmas song because I love how at the end he does the Joker laugh. The lyrics are as follows.

Jingle Bells, Batman smells Robin laid an egg.
Batmobile lost a wheel, and Joker took ballet/or and Joker got away.

He is mumbling the song because he didn't want to sing it when I wanted him to, plus he was tired and ready for bed.

Decemeber 2010

I am a little behind on my Christmas/December journaling, but it is better late than never. The Primary had a part in the Christmas Sacrament Meeting Program and Emily was so excited.  They sang "When Joseph Went to Bethlehem", and "Mary's Lullaby".  We still here her singing them at least once a day.  Mike sang with the ward choir last minute because the choir director kind of cornered him and begged for help.  Ha Ha.

Christmas Eve was an interesting night.  We had dinner at the Larson's, friend from the ward, and the food was great.  The only bad thing was that they have a dog, and Mordecai is allergic and we knew that.  The dog was supposed to be hypoallergenic, and when he was playing with her he didn't break out so we figured he was fine.  Well the smart parents we are didn't think about washing his hands when left and when we got in the car to go home Mordecai immediately started sucking his finger like he does when he is tired.  When we got home he started rubbing his eyes and ears so we gave him some Benedryl and put him to bed.  He slept for about 5 minutes when he started to complain and cry and say that he hurt, and this would occur every time he fell asleep.  We called the after hours doctor from his pediatrician office and they said that the allergy to the dog probably aggravated the left over fluid in his ear.  Just about the time we decided to take him to the E.R. he seemed to be better and slept fine that night, which was nice because it seems like every major Holiday these last 2 years have been spent in the E.R.

Christmas day was awesome!  It was nice to be home with just our family, but we also missed the extended family things too.  Santa brought the kids a Mobigo, since they always ask to play the itouch, and a basketball hoop since Mordecai loves basketballs.  Emily continues to amaze us at how athletic she is.

This year was hard for Mike and I. We didn't know what to tell the other one to get, since we typically just go out and by what we want when we want it. I ended up getting Mike some arm warmers, bike jersey and gift card to buy more road bike stuff since he got his road bike this past summer.  He got me an external hard drive (1 TB) and a wireless mouse, along with all the house repairs I have wanted.  The other big hits this Christmas were Gator Golf, a Batman Puzzle, and Aunt Felicia's gift of the Rapunzel wig and dress.

Since Christmas we have seen a lot of this.

Yesterday we finally got some snow, first 'real' snow of  the year, and Emily has been begging to go sledding.  Mike finally took her out this afternoon since I couldn't because I am pregnant, which is amazing since he HATES the cold and snow.

Other big things happening around here are that Mordecai is basically potty trained.  We started on Monday this last week and since then he has only had 4 accidents out of  5 days. Three the first day, and one this morning.  The one this morning was stinky but I think he couldn't hold it in because it was loose from the Mira lax we had given him.  He has been on Mira lax for the last year or so since he hold his BM's in, so we need to find the right amount to keep him soft but not runny.

Tonight is New Years Eve.  No big plans, just Papa Murphy's pizza which has become tradition.  Tomorrow is B.C. and Julie's wedding so that is an all day event since Mike is the best man.  I can't think of anything else, so here is to a wonderful and prosperous New Year!

I Can Live With Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ Again

Two weeks ago at church Emily runs out of the Primary Room all excited that she was asked to give another talk.  Mike wrote the last talk for her since he couldn't come in for her talk, he was Elders Quorum President and teaching the lesson that Sunday, so this time I wrote her talk and Mike stood up there to help her if she needed it.  She was very adamant that she wanted to read it herself, so when I wrote her talk yesterday I tried my best to not use hard words.  After church was over a lot of people gave her compliments on how well she did.  The 1st counselor in the Primary presidency said if we just made it a little longer she would be ready to give talks in sacrament meeting, and her Sunbeam teacher cried when she gave Emily a hug (we just love JoanE in our house). Here is her talk and then a video of her reading it.

Before we lived on this earth we all lived in heaven with our Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father and Jesus taught us as much as they could. Then one day Heavenly Father called all of his children together and told us that if we want to become like HIM and live with him again that we had to come to earth. I bet we were all a little scared, but Heavenly Father told us that He would let us choose to be good or bad, and that if we did bad things He would give us a way to repent. He did that by providing a Savior for us who is our big brother Jesus.

We came to earth to gain a body and walk by faith. We can’t remember our home in heaven, but we can choose the right by following the example of Jesus, obeying our parents and primary teachers, being kind to others and living the Gospel the best we can.

Jesus is our Savior and He died for us, so that we can all live with him again. He also overcame sin, and if we have faith, repent, are baptized, receive the Holy Ghost, and keep the commandments we will return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. We will have the gift of eternal life, which is what the plan of happiness is all about.

I love Heavenly Father and Jesus SO much! I love to come to church and learn about the Gospel. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Baby #3 Documentation

I feel like I haven't posted a whole ton about this pregnancy.  I don't know if it is because I have been so busy with the kids I already have, plus taking care of a husband and home that I slack on the whole blog thing.

Today I had my 30 week appointment with Dr. Huynh, can I just say that I miss Dr. Hall terribly, and things look the same. I am 30 weeks and 3 days today and my fundal height was measuring exactly at 30. The baby had a heart rate of 165, which Dr Huynh said that was pretty fast for this stage but she also noted that this baby also moves a TON!  She asked if there was any discomforts and all I could note was that I have had pelvic pressure for the last 4 to 5 weeks and I only had that with the other 2 the week I had them. I also had braxton hicks contractions for all of one evening and into the next morning. My OB checked and said that the baby's head was down already which would explain the pressure, and that I should have called her with the braxton hicks because I had more than 6 within an hour. If I have them again I'm supposed to call her so she can check and make sure things aren't progressing already.

In 2 weeks I go back for another routine exam plus another ultrasound.  I have had ultrasounds every visit since I was 20 weeks to make sure the dilation in her kidneys haven't changed. At 20 weeks she was weighing in at 30th percentile and every visit since then she has continued to drop in percentile.  The last 2 visits she has weighed in at the 20th percentile, so the odds are that she will be smaller like I have hoped and that she wont jump 2 pounds like there was between Emily and Mordecai's birth weights.  I am already anxious to have her.  I can't wait to see what she looks like and how she will act...even though I know she will already be crazy like her siblings. This sounds weird but I am afraid of her being "late" since I haven't been late before.  I know I should be more afraid of having stones again like with Mordecai, or concern of kidney infections like with Emily but I think I have come to the conclusion that with me there is no such thing as an "uncomplicated" pregnancy so I am used to that.  These last 2 months feel like they are going to be forever loooong, but this whole pregnancy in general has gone by really quick so in reality these last 2 months will probably also.  That's it, now I feel like I have done my journaling on this pregnancy,so that in 20 years when I look back I will have documentation on how it was.

Eye Appointment

We had another eye appointment for Emily today.  Last night before we went to bed I was talking to Mike about how I was expecting a 'bad' visit with Dr. Nichols, and that I was tired of Emily having to go through all of this.  It just didn't seem fair that she has had to do patching or eye drops since she was 6 months old, not to mention the numerous surgeries she has had.  We were supposed to do patching or eye drops these last 3 months for 6 hours a day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  For the first 2 months we were great about doing the drops.  She wanted them instead of looking 'weird' with the patch, her words not mine, but then stopped the last month because her good eye started to wander like before.  So back to today. The nurse or whatever you call them came in and started checking her eyes.  I was nervous because when the letters started getting smaller she would confuse "C's" and "G's" with "O's" and she would say that "N's" were "H's".  Finally when Dr. Nichols came in the first thing he said was, "Wow! We have made some pretty big jumps here."  I immediately started thinking we had made jumps in the negative way, not good.  However, I was wrong.  He told us that her eye sight is better than it has ever been.  Her vision is equal and that the alignment distance wise is normal or corrected.  All of those things were what we have been trying to fix.  Her alignment close up is a little off, but that having it normal in the distance is far more critical and outweighs anything up close, so that is good.  He also said that she can now see the little letters on his card up close, which gives her depth perception! Yay, hopefully we will have less bumping into things.  It was left up to me if we completely wanted to stop for the next 4 months and see if we slip or continue to patch for only 4 hours a day Monday, Wednesday, and Friday's.  He told us that if we slip it is easier to get back to normal since we are NOW at normal, but that there is a higher chance of slipping because we have slipped once before.  We opted to continue patching, and we go back in April.  Dr. Nichols did say that if when we come back we are the same or better he would venture to say that we are near the end of the road in this forever long and drawn out process.  I hope so, and that surgery is no longer on the table.  She will probably need glasses for a while, and maybe for the rest of her life if she has Mike's eyes but I am okay with that now.  I am also grateful to Emily and the lessons she has taught me about obedience.  She is a very obedient little girl, never once has she complained about this trial or the things that have come along with it.  It goes to show that I need to trust more in the blessings she has been given, and to KNOW that there, "Will be no lasting affects from her hemangioma."
