Homecoming

We made it home safely from Tennessee on Thursday night. Mom and the kids and I left for the airport about 3:15 her time. We made it in time for some dinner in hopes that Mordecai would have enough time to digest it so we wouldn't have a throw up spell like we did on the way there. Mom dropped us off and I grabbed us a cart to roll in with the 2 car seats and my checked bag with Mordecai in a stroller in tow and Emily pulling her own suit case. We made it in and checked our bags when Mom came walking in. She said she felt bad watching us walk in with all of our stuff. I told her the hard part was done, now it was just me and Mordecai and Emily and carry on stuff. As we were walking away the guy helping me asked Mom if she wanted a gate pass to help us. So Mom got to come with us. I did it by myself going to Tennessee, but it was nice to have the extra help and time with her. It is sad to be gone, but I am grateful for the time I was there with family, even if I was a big boob at the beginning. I wished we all lived a little closer.

Friday Mike stayed home from work and we went to the Zoo. It was fun to see how much Mike missed us. He was a lot more playful and patient with the kids. After the Zoo we came home and just vegged.

Saturday we went swimming. Emily just used her arm floaties and wasn't afraid of anything. She jumped in just about the whole time we were there, and didn't mind going under. I think we are going to sign her up for swim lessons next season.

Today it was so nice to be back at our ward. It is amazing to me that at first I felt like it was odd, or awkward or something, but now I feel really apart of it. We had the elders for dinner and now they are with Mike at s general Priesthood meeting. Mike is playing a special musical number for it. I think he was a bit nervous when he left, but I am pretty confident he will be great.

Grandma is going into surgery tomorrow afternoon. I am a little anxious for her, so I fasted for her today. Sounds, and looks like my kids are asleep/quiet, so it looks like I need to go clean.

Another Zoo Day

We had another day at the Zoo yesterday. We went with Marlie and her 2 boys, Kristal and her daughter, Rachel and her 2 boys and Kelly and her son and daughter. It was a lot of fun.

Zoo

Mike and I decided to buy a Zoo pass this year in an effort to get out of the house this summer and enjoy the outdoors, so yesterday we had a zoo day with some great friends. We were joined by Wendy, Allison, and Carter Jensen, Kristal and Lanae Campbell, and Lexy and Hannah Ludwig. I think the kids had a good time as well as the moms. On the way home I asked Emily what her favorite part was and she said "The train"... I should of known that. We also did the carousel, which Emily was still afraid to get on an animal that actually went up and down, oh-well maybe next time. Mordecai loved the monkeys and being with all the kids. Denver Zoo

Emily, Mordecai, Hannah, Lexy, Paula (Lexy's mother in-law) and I all piled into our Trailblazer on Thursday this last week and took a trip to the Denver Zoo. I have been several times with family, but never have I had so much fun. I think that maybe I had more fun than Emily. We did the carousal, which was Emily's first time. I thought she would do okay since she loves the horse at King Soopers, but she freaked out once we started going round. Lexy and I were able to get her to stay on her tiger the whole time, and to calm down by looking at the other animals. Once we got off though she said, "should we do it again?" We then headed over to the train, and she really loved that. She asked me if it was Thomas, and I just had to laugh. From there we went and did the parakeet, and larakeet exhibit. I never knew that you could walk through it, let alone feed them nectar. Well we did and at first Paula had a ton of birds flock around her, then Lexy wanted pictures of me and Mordecai with the birds so she gave us some nectar and wow, did that take off. I had this one bird that chewed a whole through the cup to get to the nectar and another one climbed up Mordecai's leg and then started nibbling on my finger. I think that was the best part for me. So the pictures above are obviously from the Zoo, but they are in no such order.

Thursday and Friday night we had Lexy and her family over for dinner. Friday it was scheduled and Thursday after the Zoo Lexy and I made freezer jam for the Relief Society broadcast dinner so we just had Seth come over since she was already there. It was so much fun. Mike and Seth tease us that we are each others BFF's because we have seen each other for 2 weeks straight.

Walking has been going well, along with the strength training. I have had a lot of people ask me if I am losing weight and that feels good. I just have to realize that I don't lose like some people do with nursing. Well that is it for now.

Mordecai's Blessing & the Denver Zoo

Well today was Mordecai's 2 month well baby, and he has grown a lot. He weighs 13 pounds 1 1/2 ounces, 80%, and was 24 inches long, also the 80%. He got 5 shots plus the oral vaccine for the Roto virus. He was a trooper. They usually only do 4 shots, but there has been a back order of the vaccines that have the multiple meds in them so that was why there was 5. Emily went with me and she was a big helper so the doctor gave her a sticker. Mordecai sleeps so well. I thought Emily was an easy baby...but maybe I don't know what I was talking about :) He goes to bed at 9:00/9:15 and then usually wakes up around 4:00/4:30 to eat then back to bed until the 7:00 hour. He smiles a ton and is starting to laugh.
Emily can't wait until Memorial Day weekend because then Keith, Kim, and Talisa will be here. She keeps telling me that they are coming over to her house and that it is "going to be fun". Of course Mike and I can't wait until they get here too. It means X-BOX, Wii, shopping, and hiking time. Yahoooooo!!!
Next Tuesday I turn 25. I am having a hard time with it because then it means that I am not in my early twenties anymore, and I know it sounds weird but oh well. Oh yeah, I lost another pound from yesterday to today so that means it is a total of 6 pounds from the day I started this diet. I need to get smaller by Julie's wedding...we will see if that happens though. Anyway here are some pictures of the kids, family etc.
