Well Child Visits

The kids had their well checks today. I have been lazy these last two years, so I make Emily wait a month for hers so she and Mordecai can go at the same time. Here are the stats from their visits.

Emily:

Weight: 36 lbs - 55%
Height: 41 inches - 75%

With her it is nothing new. Dr. Miller continues to say she is going to be tall and skinny...we will see if she is much taller than I am. Her verbal skills are that of a 5th grader and her understanding as well. She is our tiny little adult. Also with this visit they started to test her hearing. The nurse told me that most 4 year olds have a hard time understanding what to do, but not Emily she got every beep right. They told her to say "beep" when she heard them. The nurse thought it was pretty funny that when she said "beep" she said it in the tone and frequency of the one they played for her. One other funny that happened while we were there with her. Dr. Miller went to lift her up to put her on the table and examine her. When he did he said, "You are heavier than you look." Emily thought about that for a second or two and the responded with, "I do P90X with my dad in the basement so I have a lot of muscles."

Mordecai:

Weight: 27 lbs 9 oz - 45%
Height: 35 inches - 70%

Again, nothing new. He is advanced in verbal skills as well, especailly for a boy. He is already saying sentences and is a typical 2 year old. He didn't like the visit very much because he is a big momma's boy and doesn't like it when anyone touches him, or makes him do something he doesn't like. We did get some things to try for his bowel issues (constipated all the time because he holds it in). I picked up some mineral oil in hopes that it works since the Miralax isn't helping anymore. Only time will tell.

We are hopefully leaving in the morning, depending on the news on our car.

Old Funny

After a wonderful time with a wonderful friend last night I decided I needed to share a story that I didn't write down. It was shortly after Emily was fully potty trained, and I say "fully" meaning I knew she knew when and how to go, and then all of a sudden she started to regress. We started giving her skittles in her skittle jar, and it was working...she wasn't having accidents anymore. Well on a Sunday I dropped her off at nursery and I told her before I left that if she needed to go potty to make sure and tell Brother or Sister Hall. Well, when I went back to pick her up after Church was over I was told a funny little exchange that Emily and Ian Hall had.

Ian said that he had asked Emily if she needed to use the potty, to which Emily replied, "No, I know when I need to go cause I am potty trained." Ian then told her, "Well I am potty trained too, and sometimes I go just to make sure." Emily responded with, "Well its a little different because you have a penis and I have a vagina." I about died when I heard what happened.

Sorry if I have already shared this story. I looked, rather skimmed, through our previous posts and didn't see it.

Elissa's Shower

Today I had a baby shower for Elissa Olsen. It was great fun and she got some awesome gifts. She is being induced on the 19th so we wish her luck! Emily was our photographer and she got some awesome shots. We played the dirty diaper game, memory and guess the girth. Afterwards we had potato salad, pasta salad, broccoli salad and some yummy fruit.

"Just Dance"

This is video of the kids dancing this morning. Emily does some crazy break dancer moves, and Mordecai just loves to try and copy and shakes his bum in the air. Enjoy.

This and That..Take Two

When Cherstin and Dan were here we did a bunch of little activities with the kids. From playing at the Love Sac store, to playing in the snow, from swimming at the APEX center (make sure you check out our swim wear models) and finally to buying and wearing matching pajamas....we had a lot of fun.
