February 2014

February has been a pretty crazy month! Ruby turned 3 on Valentines day. We usually let the birthday girl or boy pick what we do for dinner, either at home or out. I asked Ruby what she wanted for dinner and she said "lettuce and soup". I then asked her, "where do you want that, at home or at a restaurant?" She told me, "A restaurant, a green one." So we went to Sweet Tomatoes.

Then Saturday the 15th Ruby had a party because it was a "big year" for her. She had 7 little friends come over and they all just had pizza and fruit and watched Sophia the First since it was a Sophia party. They also decorated cookies and played.

On the 18th we celebrated Emily's 8th birthday at Texas Roadhouse since the girl LOVES steak. It was fun because they put her on a saddle and sang to her which she enjoyed being the center of attention.

On the 22nd Emily also had a party. That was a busy day for me since I was asked by the Stake Relief Society to head up our Women's Conferenece luncheon of about 150 sisters. The menu I came up with was 3 different kinds of soups, salad, rolls, and a dessert kabob with brownie, strawberries and marshmallows. The soup part wasn't too hard because we had sisters make the soup and bring it, the hard part was shopping for all the food, and assembling the 300 kabobs. After the luncheon I headed home to have Emily's party which was a karaoke party. The kids all had a blast, and Emily was spoiled.

Emily & Ruby Well Checks

Emily and Ruby had their well child checks today. They were supposed to have them last Friday, but with my stress of preparting for the Women's Conference luncheon an Emily's birthday party I totally spaced them. Anyway, here are there stats

Emily

Weight: 57 lbs - 50%
Height: 51" - 60%

This is unusal for Emily being past the 50% for height because she is usually 45% or lower. Dr. Miller thinks we had hit the growth spurt for height but not quite evened out for the weight part yet.

Ruby

Weight: 28lbs - 25%
Height: 37" - 50%

Ruby has always been on the lighter side for weight and percentile, but has always been tall for her age group...I think her last check she was in the 75%. My girls must have swapped or something. Who knows, maybe this explains why she doesn't eat anything lately...maybe she hasn't hit her growth spurt yet. :)

They are both growing well and are happy and healthy.
