Swimming Lessons

Emily's first session of swim lessons ended today.  She has gone from not knowing how to really hold her breath to swimming under water, bobbing, front to back floats, and jumping off the diving board.  We signed her up for the next session which starts the 5th of July, and she can't wait.

Dog Days of Summer

Since Ruby has been born I have been more of a "homebody".  Don't know why, but staying with just my little family has been more enticing than hanging out with friends.  Anyway, my friend Marci from the ward has been trying to pull me out of my shell and we have been doing that by going to the pool about once a week.  The days we do go we are usually there from about 10:30am-4:00pm.  We pack a lunch have naps there and go back and forth between baby pool, big pool, and shade.  The days at the pool have helped Mordecai have a little more of a desire to potty train which is nice and the kids get some energy out.

From Blue To Green!

This past week we have had workers at our house painting it.  It happened really fast, and a lot quicker than I expected it would.  Tuesday we had 2 guys here power washing and painting test strips on the house.  They were ready to buy the paint Wednesday morning but we had hold off since we needed to get approval from the HOA.  *Side Note*  Our dumb HOA has this "paint stick" that has the approved colors on them.  Well Mike and I didn't know there were certain approved colors.  We just thought that we had to pick a color from anywhere and get it approved.  Well we picked a color and then found this out so I went and picked up the paint stick and we matched the color we chose to an "approved color" which is actually really close...rebels I know.  So, on Thursday my friend Marci and I went to the pool at 10:30am.  When I left there were painters here prepping our house, scraping and caulking.  When I got home, 4:00pm, I was expecting the painters to be gone but nope they were still here and our house was green.  They had painted the majority of the house minus the trim and the next day which was Friday they were back finishing it up.  Mike and I love it!

Our first time to the pool this summer was this evening.  Ruby loved the water! The baby pool was like a warm tub, so she enjoyed it very much and so did Mordecai.  While we were there we signed Emily up to start swim lessons.  She starts on Monday the 20th and has them for two weeks M-Th.  I pretty excited since she seems to not have to much of a fear of water.  Hopefully when Abby and Emmett get here next month she will be able to do a little more with them.

Ruby- 4 Month Well Check

Little Miss Ruby is growing nice a big!  She had her 4 month well check today and she grew, but is still our little runt.

Weight- 12 lbs - 25%
Length- 25" - 75%
Length- 15.5" - 10%

She is still on Prevacid for her acid reflux, but is doing a whole lot better.  She proves to be just as chatty as the other two have been which means we will not have a quiet moment in our home.  She isn't sleeping through the night consistently yet, but does pretty well.  We sure do love her a lot!

Home & Chatter

We got home on Friday at 6:00pm.  When we woke up Friday morning the kids seemed fine so we decided to leave.  Two hours into the drive we stopped so I could feed Ruby and a potty break.  Mike took Mordecai in the bathroom to potty and change when all of a sudden Mordecai threw up.  After that he seemed fine.  We stopped at McDonald's in Hayes, Kansas and had lunch.  Mordecai ate a hamburger and both kids played.  Four hours outside of home we stopped again to let the kids stretch and potty.  While Emily and I were walking back out Mordecai said he was going to throw up again, and he did.  Poor kid threw up all the way home.  Fortunately for us he knows when it is going to come so he told us and I was able to catch it in a diaper sack.  When we got home he acted totally fine and the kids ran around like crazy.  I am grateful it was a quick bug.

Now for some video's of Ruby.  She sure is chatty...even more so than Emily and Mordecai were at this age.  I hope this isn't a sign of what she will be like as a toddler/kid because if it is we are in trouble.  Emily and Mordecai never stop talking so our house will definitely be a chatter-"box".

Oklahoma Day 7

We headed off to a play place called Unpluggits. It is an indoor play place with an area of painting and play-doh. The kids had a blast and got out some energy.

After we played Mike, the kids, and I headed down to Ardmore, OK. It was an an hour and a half trip, but well worth it.  We met up with Kristal, Matt, and Lanae Campbell.  They live in Dallas, TX and Ardmore was half way for both families.  As we pulled in to Ardmore we stopped in a Wal-Mart parking lot to call Kristal and find out where we should meet for dinner.  After I got off the phone with her I looked back at the kids and Emily started to cry and then threw up.  Good thing we were at Wal-Mart.  I ran in and bought some clothes, underwear and a cheap booster seat so Emily had something to sit in.  Customer service gave us a big trash bag so we could bag her car seat so we didn't have to smell it.

We ate at Applebee's and it was so good to see Kristal and her family.  I sure do miss her a lot.  The older I get the more I am finding out that friendships like she and I have don't happen very often.

Emily threw up on the way back to Cherstin's, and is currently asleep.  We are planning on leaving in the morning depending on how the kids do tonight, so Mike and I packed up the car tonight.  I will miss being here.  It has been fun seeing Cherstin and her family here in their own environment.  We sure do appreciate them and letting us stay with them.

Oklahoma Day 6

Not a lot happened today since Cherstin was still in the hospital until this afternoon.  Our family got dressed and met a friend at a splash park near Cherstin's house.  Rachel, Tanner, and her boys Jacob and Lucas Hicks spent the summer of 2009 here for an internship.  Since then she and I have stayed in contact.  Their family has since moved to Oklahoma about 30 minutes away from Cherstin and Dan's.  Rachel is due with another little boy, Charlie, on the 4th of July.  It was so fun seeing them.
