Halloween

Tonight for Halloween we had the Campbell's over for dinner, and then Mike and Matt took the kids out to Trick or Treat. Kristal and I stayed home to hand out the candy. It was a good time, and the kids got a ton of candy. It is a good thing cause then we don't have to buy Christmas candy since we always have almost all of it left. Here some quick pictures of the kids before they left.

Sledding

This past Wednesday we went out and purchased some sleds so that the kids and I could go sledding, well at least Emily and I. This morning was perfect cause it was warming up, but we still had a ton of snow from the storm that we had earlier in the week. It is also perfect cause just across the street in the greenbelt, behind Don and Angela's fence is a little hill so we didn't have to go far from home. So I bundled Emily up in her snow gear and me in my boots and jacket and we hit the "hill". Emily loved it, and Mordecai and Mike stayed in the house cause they both hate the snow and cold.

These were taken from the bathroom window on our first floor.Later I enticed them out to take pictures and videos of us, and they both eventually took turns sledding.

After sledding for about an hour Emily and I made snow angels, well we attempted to since the snow was so packed, first we started in the shallow snow and no success for Emily, the we went deeper and she just sank.
Once we were done with snow angels I took Mordecai inside to make hot chocolate, while Mike and Emily stayed outside and built our snowmen family. I would of stayed outside with them, but all I had on was a pair of lounge pants and they are not anything like snow pants, so I was cold.

Trunk Or Treat

Today was our Trunk or Treat. For the longest time Emily has wanted to be Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) so we purchased her a costume for it at the beginning of the month when costumes were being put out. Well, today we were at Target getting some last minute things for tonight and we walked by the dress up isle and she saw this dress that looked like Cinderella. Needless to say I gave in and bought it and she was Cinderella while Mordecai was a Dragon/Dinosaur (I don't know what it was). Mordecai didn't like the hood so much, and the think was too tight in the crotch. That happened last year to Emily's cow costume so I think maybe my kids have long torsos, or Costco doesn't know how to size costumes. Oh-well. Kristal and I dressed up as big kids. She and I wore footie pajamas and put freckles on with eyeliner.

We sat with a new family in our ward, the Burton's, cause Emily just loves their little girl Ashlyn. Come to think of it she likes Hayden too :) Anyway the whole way to the church she was talking about how Ashlyn is her new best friend and that they are going to get a ton of candy.

Snow Day # 2

Some more pictures of the snow storm we had. The whole family went out to shovel the driveway and sidewalks this morning. It was cold, but fun.

Lacking

Just so you all know, I haven't been posting cause my lap top was acting up and our desktop is a dinosaur. So, look for some major postage when I get it back.

Snow Day

Typically in Colorado we don't have our first snow fall until Halloween of even after. This year has been very different! We had snow before but not a ton, then a few days before Halloween we were hit pretty hard and so the kids and I went out to shovel.
Mordecai and Emily like to use their garden shovel and ho, I think it is rather fun to watch. The snow was so wet and heavy that we thought some of the branches on our trees were going to break off. We probably got about 18-20 inches, it was A LOT!

2009 Pumkin FHE

As usual we had our pumpkin carving FHE. We just had some hawaiian haystacks for dinner and yummy pumpkin rolls and cinnamon rolls for dessert. The kids just like playing with one another, and Mike liked it especially this year cause he didn't have to scrape out the 'pumpkis'

Corn Maze & Friends

This morning I got a phone call about 7:00 from Jerry Barber saying that Kelly's water broke and was asking if he could drop Regan off in about 45 minutes. I told him no, and that I was on my way to pick her up. As I was headed over there I though I had the idea that I would drop their son, Josh off at the Weiss' where he was going to be staying so Jerry and Kelly could drive together. After returning home Mike and I packed the kids in the car to meet Kristal and Matt at the corn maze. After a while of searching for pumpkins, they all had mushy spots from the early frost, Kristal and I decided that we were going to do the corn maze. We took Emily and Regan with us while Mike and Matt stayed with Lane and Mordecai. Even with the map, and Kristal's GPS on her iphone we were still unsuccessful and finding our way out of the maze, so Kristal and I did like we do, and cheated. For a late lunch we hit Ci Ci's with the kids, who can beat a lunch where the kids are all free.

Once home we awaited a phone call about Regan's baby brother, but didn't get a phone call until later that night asking if Regan could stay the night since there was no baby yet. After the kids were in bed we got a phone call about 8:30 saying after 14 hours of labor their baby made its debut.

It was a fun, eventful day, and quiet the experience with 3 kids.

You!

I just have to say that I love my kids to death. This stage with Mordecai is so fun! He picks up everything I say, and I love watching him do anything. I need to preface this with some things that I do. So when Mordecai does something that I don't like I usually point my finger at him and say "you" which usually follows with a stinker, baby, silly, goof cause I am trying really hard not to yell or get mad. So I have decided that I do that a lot, cause on Monday when we were taking the kids upstairs to go to bed Mordecai was standing at the top of the stairs and saw me coming up them, he then pointed his finger at me and said, "you". I thought it was hilarious, and so did Mike. Now he does it all the time and we all laugh.

He also is on a vitamin kick. Every morning he points to the cupboard above the microwave and says, "bitamin". He likes them cause they are gummy bears, and even when he sees gummy bears he yells, "bitamin!" Man, I love my sons guts!!!

Snow=Shopping

This morning we were rudely awaken by Emily running into our room at 7:30, the only time that has happened in a long long time, yelling, "Mom, Dad, get up it is snowing outside and I want to go make a snowman and a snow angel." Well we had to burst her bubble to tell her there wasn't enough snow to do either of those, but that we could go buy snow boots, snow pants and a coat for Mordecai when it did snow enough, cause we knew he would want to be out there with her. Mike had to go help someone move so the kids and I hit Target to get the gear. We ended up having to buy all new gear for Emily since all the stuff we bought her last year was 3T. I also bought a bench for people to sit on while they take their shoes on and off, since we are going to start implementing that rule in our house in preparation for our floors to be sanded. So I need a little bit of help on where to place it. I would ideally like a corner bench to put by the stairs, but those are way to expensive and this I couldn't pass up for $60 bucks. So take a look and let me know where you think it should go. My mom and I have the same opinion, but I wont write so it wont persuade you to write what I think.

Place #1

Place #2

Place #3
This evening we went and did our Christmas shopping for the kids. Mike and I like to have shopping done before Thanksgiving, so we don't have to worry about crowds or finding something that our kids will like. So I am in a happy place.
