This morning we did my Monday and Tuesday morning cleaning routines. We dusted, cleaned the bathrooms and vacuumed. After all the chores we packed the car up and headed out to Colorado Springs for our mini family vacation. We decided to rent a suite with two rooms, living area and a kitchen so we could prepare meals instead of having to go out to eat. Mike and I really don't enjoy going out to eat and we find that the kids get tired of the same choices really quickly...not to mention the money we save on preparing our own.
Anyway, when we got here all the kids were so excited that we have a "mini house" to stay in. Ruby even told us that, "this is the best hotel eber because we have 3 t.v.'s".
After we unpacked we found an Albertsons to purchase the rest of the food we needed for meals and then headed back for swimming. The kids all had a blast and Mike and I really enjoyed just playing with the kids.
When we were done swimming we came in for naps for Ruby and Ivy while Mike and I planned what we are going to do for the next couple of days. Once the girls were up we made spaghetti and garlic knots for dinner.
We just got back from walking the Garden of the Gods, or as Emily would say "Gaurdian of the Gods". The kids are bathed and watching some cartoon. before we put them all to bed.
I have some funny things Ruby has said tonight. While Mike and I were talking about what we were going to see on our trip he leaned close to Ruby and asked her if she wanted to go to the zoo. He must of been too close because she responded with, " you have stinky breath." I died laughing.
The other funny thing was when we were coming home from the Garden of the Gods I asked the kids if they enjoyed it and after everyone replied yes Ruby responded with, " I did not!"
I think this is going to be a good break/vacation.
