Hay-Ho, Hay-Ho

This week has just been kind of blah. I think it has been this way all summer. I wait all summer long for it to be fall, with Halloween and cooler temperatures and let's not forget kids going back to school so I'm not annoyed when I go grocery shopping. Rude?, who cares. So this week consisted of fast food for lunch and watching my all time favorite movie, "The Incredibles". Okay, so I lied it's the kids favorite movie as of late.

Yesterdy, I decided that I needed to get back into my routine that I usually have during the school year so I decided to start by deep cleaning my couch, guess it helped cause right as I decided to clean it Mordecai spilled root beer on it. Anyway my day was looking better, more productive. It got even better when I checked my email and had this wonderful email from Mike,

"Sweet Desiree,

So was it too much junk mail or were  you tired of telling people that your email was princess_desi?

I love you!!

Hope you had a great day.

Mr. Incredible"

I don't know why, but it cheered me up even more. Then when Mike got home the kids and I took some of our peaches over to Don & Angela and visited for a while. Just as I got back Mike told me there was a paper on the bar that I needed to look at. As I was opening it Mike had this grin on his face. It was another raise! Yay! His boss basically told him that it was a mid year raise because the company had some extra money to give out and with all of his hard work she wanted him to have some of it. It is a small raise, which means we will still get the cost of living raise in February so that is cool too. The raise is probably why I got the email :). To top the end of the week off we get to go to a sealing of a sweet family tomorrow and then a lunch date. Life is pretty good right now, everything seems in order.

Guess What?

So if you don't already know, we are expecting baby #3.  This one took it's time to finally come, like almost a year of trying (more like 9 or 10 months).  Emily took us 6 months and Mordecai took 4 months after weaning Emily.  So once I weaned Mordecai I expected that it would take at least 4 months for my body to go back to normal, and that we would be pregnant sooner rather than later.  That didn't happen.  There was numerous melt downs, and calls to my Mom and Mike, especially when I would hear of someone else getting pregnant so easy.  Once I finally got to this point where I was happy with my 2 little kids, and wonderful husband we got pregnant.  I thought that I would be ecstatic, like with the other 2, but I wasn't.  I hit this wall like, "Why did we do this?  Life was perfect!  Mordecai knows how to walk and talk, and I don't want to do the whole baby thing again with spit up and sleepless nights and nursing."  I then went through this phase like, "Did I really want this towards the end of trying, or was it because I just had wanted it so bad at the beginning that I couldn't really give up, even though I should have or wanted to..."  I really don't know how to explain the last feeling, I did my best.

We told the kids, and Emily was just so excited!  She said right away that it is a baby sister, ( I think that too, but time will tell).  Her excitement helped to make me excited, and explaining to her and showing her pictures of the baby and the process it is going through brings a whole new light to it.  She was so excited to see "it" during our first visit and ultrasound, and when they turned on the heart beat (164 BPM  @ 7 weeks)  Emily and Mordecai just stopped what they were doing to listen.  Today was another OB appointment and they just did the Doppler and Emily was excited again.  She talked about it all week long and when we heard it (186 BPM) she said that it is a baby sister.  Mike told me, jokingly, that the first two kids the Lord makes you wait 9 months in happy agony cause you are so excited, and that with subsequent kids you have 9 months to get excited.  HA HA!  I don't want people to take this the wrong way and not think I feel blessed or am happy or excited.  I just thought I would be like I was with Mordecai and Emily.  I am slowly getting excited, (really excited) and can't wait to meet *Ruby *.  :-)

So the baby is due February 27th.  So that makes me 11.5 weeks today.  Emily came almost a week early and Mordecai exactly 2 weeks early, so I hope this one comes early too.  We will have to wait a long time to see though.

16" Pink Princess Bike

Emily has wanted a big girl bike for so loooonnngg.  She inherited a 16" from the neighbor up the street, but still has wanted a "new" one that is pink.  Yesterday Mike went on an early bike ride with a guy in our ward and when he got home he asked if we wanted to go to lunch and hit the bike store.  Of course we said yes, so we piled ourselves into the car and headed out.  Emily kept talking about how she wanted a bike.  Mike told her someday she could have a new bike, but for now they were going to a bike store for Daddy.  Mike and Emily headed into the store, and when they came out Emily kept talking about how she rode this pink TREK bike all around the store.  She asked Mike if she could have it, and he said that after lunch we could go look at Toys 'R Us for bikes for her.  We had a great lunch at "Appletrees" as Mordecai called it and then headed to look at bikes.  Emily immediately fell in love with this pink Princess bike and rode it around and around while Mike and I discussed if we should get it now or for Christmas.  We gave in and bought it for her now cause it is Summer, and because she has been a really good girl lately.  After she and Mike put the bike together we headed outside so she could ride it.  She rode it for a good 2 hours, and got better every time.

"Friendly" Fun

This past week we had some house guests.  A friend that was here for the summer last year while her husband had an internship traveled through to meet her husband in Oklahoma.  Rachel got here with her 2 boys, Jacob & Lucas on Monday the 2nd, and were here until this past Friday.  It was great cause he kids are our kids ages and they play really well.  We just chatted, played, shopped, ate and let the kids play out in the storm.  The only sad thing was that Mordecai came down with Roseola on Monday and Emily and Lucas got it on Saturday.  Hopefully Jake doesn't get it.  We had fun!
