Bear Lake-Day 4/Utah

Church was hard for me today. Don't get me wrong, it is good to see that people still follow the commandments on vacation, but I am strict on Sunday behavior. I hate it when people think there kids are being cute, when they are being loud and don't take them out. Or don't take them out when they are fussy or angry. You don't just sit there and ignore them, or try to get them to stop...you take them out right away so it doesn't interrupt the meeting for others. I felt like we were in a nursery during sacrament. It was hard for me to feel the Spirit, or to even hear the speakers, prayers, or organ. My kids were good, like usual. They know it is a place to be quiet and no talking. They also know what happens if the act up. Call me Nazi or whatever, but at least people can feel the Spirit.

Anyway, after Sacrament we headed back to the house to pack up and clean. We had to be out by noon. We ate a picnic lunch with Kieth and Kim at the Logan Tabernacle, and then we headed to Mike's parents home. For dinner we had Spaghetti and salad. Then we headed over to the Keetch home to visit with the cousins. It was a fun time.

Bear Lake-Day 3

Today was the Minetonka Cave. Since we have been on this trip the kids have been to 4 states. Anyway, Emily and Mordecai did awesome. There was 444 steps into the cave and 444 going out of the cave. Mike carried Mordecai most of the way, but Emily walked the entire thing. She did awesome. She didn't complain or cry or whine, and was excited the whole time.

When we got back from the cave it was our turn to provide lunch. We had pulled pork sandwiches and strawberries. While clean up was happening we took the kids outside and did snaps and Kristilyn's parachute. Afterwards Kim and I took advantage of the theater room and watched, "Bounty Hunter", complete with popcorn and snacks. Part way through the movie Mike and and the majority of people went to another beach, but Kim and I stayed home with Mordecai and Kira. There was this one part during the movie that a car crashed and Mordecai goes, "Cool Crash!" Man I love that kid. After the movie we headed out to the upper deck where Mordecai and Kira seemed to have fun with each other.

After dinner, and putting Mordecai down for bed (he didn't get a nap) Mike and I took Emily out to get a shake. Keith, Kim, and Talisa joined us, and I think the girls felt pretty special. Once Emily was in bed the guys went down to play some Foosball. I headed to bed and Mike stayed up to play "Rage". I was too tired and it was 10:30 already and we had church at 9:00.

Bear Lake-Day 2

This morning we got up and had breakfast and played around for a bit. Mike announced we were expecting baby #3, which was nice cause then I didn't need to hide it anymore. After a while we broke off into 2 groups and did some hikes (walks) Mike, Emily, Mark Keith, Kim, Talisa, Kira, Brandon, and Melody went on the more advanced hike, while Mom, Dad, Kristilyn, , Grant, James, Jason, Julie, Katrina, Neal, Anna, Daniel, Mordecai, and I did the kid friendly hike.
Mike and I were supposed to do lunch, but Keith and Kim's crock-pot doesn't seem to cook as fast as ours, so our pulled pork wasn't ready in time, so we switched with Katrina and Neal. After lunch we headed to the beach since we had a coupon towards some water craft rentals. We got a sea-doo and a paddle boat. The water was nice and Emily and Mordecai were like usual...fish in the water. Mike and I took Emily and Talisa out in the paddle boats at first. Mordecai didn't wan't to go, he was to scared, but we made him go at the end and he loved it. He kept telling people that. "We went on a boat, and it didn't crash." Emily and Talisa found this puddle of water that they loved playing in, but then a little boy pottied in it so they had to find a new spot...a trench. Mike enjoyed doing the sea-doo, I couldn't do it, being pregnant and all.

After bedtime we just sat around and talked some more and enjoyed some Raspberry shakes.

Bear Lake-Day 1

We drove the 2 1/2 almost 3 hours to the house. I say almost 3 cause Mike missed the road we were supposed to turn on, and we had to turn around and drive 15 more minutes back to where we were supposed to be. Anyway the house was wonderful. It had enough bedrooms for every family to have their own space. Mike and I were 3rd on the lost to choose. There was a queen room left, but we decided to take a room that had beds for our kids, so we took a room that had a full over full bunk and 2 twins. We all had our own beds since Mike was to long to sleep on the full, and Emily didn't want anyone to sleep with her on the top. There was a nice play area out back with a swing set and a see-saw, and of course all the kids were out back before we had dinner that night. The basement also had a skeeball machine, Foosball, pool and an air hockey table. Mordecai LOVED the skeeball, so I told Mike we should look into finding one for him. :) There was also a theater room with a projector and theater seating...plus a popcorn machine.

After dinner, and putting the kids to bed the adults stayed awake and played 2 rounds of "I Never" and then we discussed the activities for the tomorrow. It is just nice to be here where we can all be together late, instead of people leaving cause their kids need to be in bed.

Utah Trip/Family Reunion

Mike and I packed the kids into the car and headed to Utah. All of Mike's immediate family was going to be in town for our first ever Rogers Family Reunion. We got in and stayed at Keith and Kim's home. Tuesday night was long. We pumped up the air mattress and went to bed thinking that in the morning we needed to put some more air in it cause we both rolled towards the middle. Well, in the middle of the night we we both woke up with our feet and heads up, but our bottoms down to the ground. We had a hole. So Mike had me go sleep on the couch and he made a bed on the floor.

The next day, Wednesday the 21st, we headed out to Target to buy a new air mattress, and to breakfast. We tried to get together with Grandpa Pehrson, but he said he wasn't feeling well and to call him tomorrow. From IHOP we headed over to Mike's parents house to visit with Katrina and Neal. They had flown in from New York the night before and we hadn't seen them since Judie and Jason's wedding, which was over 2 years ago. Since then, they have adopted a sweet little girl named Anna. Wednesday night the entire family met at Murry Park for family pictures, and then afterwards Keith and Kim and our family headed over to Zupa's for fondue.

Thursday morning Mike opted to not go to the Temple with the rest of the family. We were supposed to meet at Grandpas house at 11:30 to take him to lunch, but he canceled on us again. Mike and I hit the grocery stores to purchase food for our vacation at Bear Lake. Then about 2:00 we met up with Keith and Kim and made our way up to the rental.

Fourth Of July 2010

We actually celebrated the Fourth 2 days this year.  We started out by doing snaps, worms, and smoke balls on Sunday.  We tried to do fireworks several times yesterday, but every time we headed out it started to rain, which explains the warmer clothes the kids are wearing.  When we finally decided to do it for FHE the next night we saw this double rainbow. *Funny Story*  So Mordecai was deathly afraid of the worms/"nakes".  He would freak out when they grew and he would back away.  One time when Mike was lighting a smoke ball the wind blew the left over "nakes" in his direction and he screamed like a girl.  It was funny.
So tonight we had the Ludwig's over for dinner and fireworks as our FHE.  Emily and Hannah are the best of friends.  They used to fight when they were younger, but now they just play all day long without a fight.  They are just so cool.

Jesus Always Obeyed Heavenly Father

Emily has wanted to give a talk in Primary for FOREVER. She finally got her chance today, and she did awesome. Mike helped her write her talk, since he had to teach Elders Quorum, and then they practiced a couple of times before we went to Church. I subbed in Sunbeams, so I was there to help her give it.

"Heavenly Father loves us very much. He has given us commandments to keep us safe, and to help us to be able to return back to him. As we obey the commandments, we show our love for Heavenly Father. Jesus Christ is our best example of following Heavenly Father's commandments. From the beginning Jesus obeyed Heavenly Father to create this beautiful world. When Jesus lived on the earth he obeyed Heavenly Father and organized 12 Apostles to lead the church. Jesus also obeyed Heavenly Father when he suffered and died for us so that we can return back to Heavenly Father if we choose to obey like the Savior did. I am thankful that Jesus always obeyed Heavenly Father. I love him, and I am trying to be like him."

Dinning Room

We finally re-did the dinning room!  It was my Mothers Day/Birthday Present, but it took a while cause we had to wait for some crown molding we ordered.  While we painted the dinning room we also painted the breakfast nook too.  You can't really tell in the pictures because it is a cream/off white color called "Lovely Bone."  Anyway, the stripes on the bottom half of the dinning room wall are really hard to see in the pictures, but look really cool in person.  We also got a new light fixture because the one that was in there made me nervous every time we had dinner in there.  Anytime someone walked around upstairs the light would shake, and it was literally hinging by an electrical wire.  Of course we added the chair rail, crown molding, and window casings, and I also painted the mirror from gold to silver.  Now lets get onto to some pictures.
